Fourteen-year-old Tate Kokubo is the epitome of what it means to have fun on your skateboard. Period. His take on skateboarding reminds me of the days of old when kids had no agenda about getting sponsored, how many views their YouTube page has, or who is going to hook them up. Hailing from Arlington, Massachusetts, Tate has been taking a unique approach to shredding before the age of 10. He skates anything and everything around him, and he does it with a big smile on his face. At his young age, the sky is the limit , and he takes it all in stride. All he wants to do is skate, skate, skate and have a blast doing it. Matix appreciates his take on skateboarding and for that reason he is a true Ambassador of the Matix brand out here in New England. -Dave Ashley

Despite the harsh winters, rough ground, and lack of skate parks it has produced some of the most talented skateboarders ever seen. Dedication, patience, and tough skin make up the majority of skateboarders in the North East and Mark Dodd is no exception. With the 4 seasons being harsh, unpredictable and sometimes cruel the act of skateboarding outside is not as easy as one would think. As soon as the snow thawed and the sun came out, Mark used that short period of time to get this project done. Hard working and Blue Collar to the bone, Mark embodies that tough spirit that New England is famous for.
